Drone detection and defense is technologically demanding and currently subject to short development cycles. The following steps describe a multi-stage process that has proven to be a suitable measure in practice.
Drones require special procedures in order to be detected at all. In practice, sensor combinations with radio frequency and radar sensors, acoustic sensors, thermal imaging cameras and other sensors have proven themselves. High detection rates and low false-positive rates are decisive here.
Locate the drone
The position and movements of the drone and remote control (pilot) are determined with an RF scanner, radar, thermal image / IR / transparent cameras and other sensors and provide important information about the potential risk.
The type, size, identification number and other characteristics of the drone (s) are determined from the sensor data using various methods. This information enables conclusions to be drawn about the owner and the risk potential.
If there is a potential risk, adequate defense measures can be taken. You can choose between electronic and kinetic measures such as lasers, jammers, spoofers, or EMP, firearms or safety nets.
Data and images are stored in a tamper-proof manner and are available as evidence and for forensic investigations.
