LiPo stands for lithium polymer and is a further development of the lithium-ion battery. This type of battery has a much higher energy density compared to NiMh batteries. For this reason, LiPo’s are ideally suited for use in combination with powerful brushless electric motors.
This is a LiPo battery, which may only be charged with a LiPo-compatible (balancer) charger and under no circumstances with a pure NiMH charger. If the speed controller used does not have a LiPo shutdown, you can monitor the deep discharge (below 3.3 V/cell) with a LiPo tester.
