Tethered Drone – The tethered drone

Purpose of the tied up drone

Tied up (tethered) drones are used when long flight times are required on site, e.g. for camera surveillance, for measurements or as flying relay stations in radio transmission. Since the drone is supplied with energy via the ground station, the flight time is not limited by the drone’s batteries. Tied up drones go through a simplified procedure for flights that require a permit and are therefore also suitable for use at crowds such as concerts and trade fairs.

functionality

The tethered drone is connected to the ground station via a supply and tether rope. The ground station supplies the drone with energy and limits the flight radius via the (variable) length of the rope. Various types of drones from Copting, DJI and other manufacturers are suitable for connecting.
